Dutse – A medical practitioner in the Federal Medical Centre, Birnin kudu in Jigawa, Dr Hamza Jatto, has advised residents and those living in hot environment, to drink enough water to prevent dehydration.
Jatto, said in Dutse on Tuesday on the excessive heat being witnessed in the area, added that “normally every person is expected to drink three litres of water daily”.
“But with the heat in the northern part of the country, people in the area should increase their water intake to survive the condition.
“With the harsh weather in states around the Sahara Region, people ought to increase their water intake. ”
The doctor also advised people to stay in cool environment, under the shade and wear light clothing to be comfortable during the period.
Jatto said shortage of water in the body system could result to restlessness and loss of concentration. (NAN)
