Sports Minister Bolaji Abdullahi is expected to be in Zurich, Fifa Headquarters this Thursday morning. He was expected to have left Nigeria last night. He is leading a Nigerian delegation that includes Nigeria Football Federation chairman, Aminu Maigari and some other members.
He had applied to meet with Sepp Blatter, Fifa President over the football crisis. However, the matter was settled Tuesday but the delegation still insisted on going saying “we will go even if it is to report the peace resolution.”
We have it on good authority that Blatter may not meet with the Nigerian delegation as he is expected to be in Brazil on a serious assignment on the 2014 World Cup. Some staff in Fifa will however meet with the Nigerians.
Fifa is conversant with top Nigerian government officials especially sports ministers who scurry to them over minor football issues some of which they find ridiculous.
