Baring any last minute  hitches, the Sunshine Gardens Estate Oba-Ile in Akure,  will be commissioned this month as part of activities to mark Dr Olusegun Mimiko’s three years in office as the Governor of Ondo State.

This was disclosed at the project site by the State’s new Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Dr Bade Omoloja.
Dr Omoloja who in the company of the Deputy Director, Land Services Department, Pastor Alex Alake and the Deputy Director of Building, Mr Akintade conducted newsmen round the expansive estate, said already most buildings in the estate have been occupied by their owners.

The estate, according to Dr Omolaja, has three house types -Liberty which is made up of three-bedroom detached houses, Diamond comprising semi-detached bungalows with a master -bedroom and Starlet which is a two-bedroom detached bungalow.

Continuing, the Commissioner disclosed that a unit of the Liberty house typein the 23- hectares estate, currently sells for N6 million while a unit of Diamond and Starlet sells for N5 million and N4 million respectively.

Already, 75 units of Liberty have been roofed while 50 units have been completed, Similarly, 68 units of the Diamond house type have been roofed and 48 completed while 50 units of Starlet have been roofed and 38 completed.

On the mode of payment, the Commissioner said that subscribers have two payment options. They can either pay once or make an initial payment of 50 percent of the cost while the remaining will be paid in the next nine months.

The Ondo State government, according to the Commissioner, is planning to make a community out of the estate. To this end, some areas have been cleared for a market, playground and schools.  The estate which was developed using the Public Private Partnership, PPP arrangement with Messrs Lucky Homes Limited, is expected to boost the property market in Akure.
