Lagos—Delta State Economic management recently constituted by the state Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, said, weekend, in Lagos, that it will fashion a road map for an action plan that will take Delta beyond oil.
The team is made up of top members of the state Executive Council and a private sector led economic advisory body whose Chairman is Mr. Bismark Rewane and other leading corporate executives of Delta State origin and leading companies operating in the state.
Members present at the meeting were Mr. Rewane (chairman) MD, Financial Derivatives, Albert Okumagba, BGL, Dere Otubu, chairman, Starco Insurance, Evelyn Oputu, MD, BoI, Dr. Ndidi Edozien, Lambert Koboye and John Paul Odhomo.
Others were Frederick Fwathrop, MD, Chevron, Kenneth Okpara (Commsssioner for Economic Planning), Secretary, Benard Okumagba (Finance), Kingsley Emuh (Commerce and Industry), Dr. Anthonia Ashiedu (Poverty Alleviation), Comrade Ovuozourie Macaulay, SSG, Afam Obiago (Economic Adviser), Mrs. Ann Orumade (SA, Poverty Alleviation), Chike Ogeah (Information), Charles Ajuyah (Justice & Attorney General)
Addressing the members, the state governor, said the idea started as Delta without oil but was later changed to Delta beyond oil and was to evolve ideas to build on the economy of the state.
