An Ejigbo Magistrates` Court on Wednesday sentenced a 25-year-old trader, Abdullahi Balla, to three months imprisonment for stealing a cell phone valued at N20,000 and N5,000 cash.

He said that the crime occurred on December 21, at about 3 p.m. at 13, Fatoki St., Igando, Lagos.

“Balla entered the shop of the complainant with the pretext to buy a bottle of drink.

“The accused pretended to sit and take his drink at the same time stole the complainant’s phone valued at N20, 000 and N5, 000 cash and ran,“ Shonibare submitted.

According to the prosecutor, Oke shouted and attracted the attention of passersby who arrested Balla and took him to the Igando Police Station.
