FOR choosing to pay N20,000 minimum wage to civil servants, Imo indigenes have commended the state governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and urged civil servants in the state to put in their best and take the state to the next level. The national minimum wage is N18,000.

Speaking on the umbrella of Imo Indigenes Club, they also hailed the setting aside of N400 million loan for farmers to boost agricultural production.

Leaders of the club – Mr. Vitalis Ejimofor (chairman), Engr Abuchi Iwuji (secretary) and Paul Musa Igwebe, urged the governor to embark on more populist projects that would bring development to Imo.

Said the club, which recently appointed Amb. Damian Obianigwe (group chairman, Fano Shipping Agencies Ltd) as its patron: “We salute Okorocha fot taking steps to make workers happy in Imo State. We encourage workers to put in their best and urge Imo lawmakers to co-operate with the governor.”
