IBADAN—An Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan, has ordered the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Moses Oniriti, to immediately  arrest former caretaker chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government Area of Oyo State, Akinyemi Akinlabi, to answer charges preferred against him by the state government.

Trail judge, Justice Waheed Olaifa, gave the order sequel to Akinlabi’s failure to appear before the court on November 3, 2011.

The judge said, “Whereas Akinyemi Akinlabi of Areogun Compound, Igboora was bound by recognizance to appear before this court on November 3, 2011, but failed to so appear without cause.

“You (CP) are hereby commanded to arrest the said Akinyemi Akinlabi and bring him before me at High Court 8, Ring Road, Ibadan, without delay,” the court said.

Akinlabi was accused of sometimes in December 2007, at Igboora in the Eruwa Judicial Division, conspired with some other persons now at large, against former chairman of the council, Mr Ademola Ojo, by alleging that the former chairman wanted to murder him and his entourage with the intention to causing Ojo to be charged with an offence of attempted murder by the police in Igboora.
