Enyimba coach Okey Emordi could soon be out of a job after the club boss said he has failed following the team’s inability to reach the final of the CAF Champions League.
Wydad Sunday pipped two-time champions Enyimba 1-0 on aggregate to set up a final clash with Esperance of Tunisia.
“We gave the coach a free hand and necessary support to assemble a solid squad that will win the CAF Champions League, yet he failed,” lamented Enyimba chairman Felix Anyansi-Agwu, who took exceptions to the tactics employed on Sunday.
“I will not be able to take a decision on the coach at least for now, but a decision on him would be taken at the appropriate time.”
An upset Anyansi later promised a massive purge at the club at a meeting with the squad Monday morning.
Enyimba’s exit from the Champions League means that they will not play international football next year.
