Runsewe, NTDC DG suspended

LAGOS — Director-General of Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation, NTDC, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, has been suspended from office.

A letter of suspension dated August 11 signed by the chairman, Governing Board of NTDC, Hon. Uche Anya, said Runsewe was suspended for his refusal to implement the resolutions and decisions of the board.

The letter read: “Following your wilful refusal to implement the resolutions and decisions made by the Governing Board of NTDC at its duly constituted board meeting of the 4th day of August 2010, the board hereby suspends you from office forthwith pending the completion of investigation by the appropriate authority over your several acts of indiscipline, gross misconducts, contemptuous disregard of board resolutions duly endorsed to you and flagrant violations of the law setting up NTDC.

“The Board takes serious exception to your refusal to implement the Board’s Resolutions including the resolution terminating your illegal appointments of three contract Directors and other contract employees one year after.”

“Meanwhile you are to hand over to the most senior Director in the parastatal”.
