The U-20 National team, the Flying Eagles impressive run at the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup has not gone un-noticed to one time handler of the team, Paul Hamilton.

The former Nigeria international said in a chat with Sports Vanguard that the coach John Obuh tutored team had done well in Colombia. He was particularly thrilled by their performance against Saudi Arabia in the last Group match.

“They are a great team, their performance in the last match with Saudi Arabia was indeed a great one. With what I have seen so far, I am convinced that they will beat England in Wednesday’s round of 16 match,” Hamilton said.

The former national team coach said unlike England, Nigeria had a robust history in FIFA age group competitions. “The Nigerian team have character and they have shown a lot of consistency in this tournament. I am sure they will overcome England.”

He said the football house had done well as well. “I must commend the Nigerian Football Federation for their  support, effort and encouragement given the players in all the tournaments. It is a job well done to them all.”

Hamiton  adviced coach John Obuh to remain focused and direct the players so as to achieve more in the ongoing tournament.
