The Sudden death of Chief Patrick Bolokor in Kokori, Delta State, has been received with shock by the Association of Sports veterans, Nigeria.

Together with General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua (when serving as a Col of the Nigeria Army in Warri). Late Chief B.B. Bakpa and under the leadership of Lat Chief James O. Edewor in response to the urgings and encouragement of then military Governor.  Samuel Osaigbavor Ogbemudia, masterminded the birth of Warri Wolves Football Club that made waves in the country in the 1970s and led to the resurgence of football in the oil city.

A genial and amiable gentleman with conciliatory disposition, Chief Bolokor’s circle of friends cut across most of the tribes in Nigeria as he was really a detribalised Nigerian.

“The Association of Sport Veterans Nigeria hereby express our heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family and join them as well as the Sports fraternity the Federal Government and the Government and people of Delta State of Nigeria in mourning the sudden demise of the worthy and patriotic Nigerian.”
