CALABAR— Governor Liyel Imoke of Cross River State has joined other well meaning Nigerians to condemn the bomb blast which rocked the Force Headquarters of the Nigerian Police in Abuja, Wednesday.
In a statement signed by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Media/Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Omini Oden, Imoke described the incident as unfortunate coming at the time the transformation agenda of the present administration is building up to better the lots of Nigerians.
He sympathized with the Nigerian Police, families of those who lost their lives as well as those whose vehicles were destroyed as a result of the explosion and appealed to groups who feel aggrieved on any issue to adopt constitutional measures in seeking redress rather than adopt steps which are inimical to development of the nation.
He called on Nigerians not to be discouraged by the development, but prays fervently for the leadership of the country to continue to unfold pragrammes that will add value to their lives which in turn will translate to socio-economic transformation of the country.
The governor urged the security agencies to rise up to the challenge by ensuring that the perpetrators of the act are brought to book and made to face the wrath of the law accordingly.
