The Nigerian Gas Association, NGA, has called for collective support for Federal Government’s vision with regard to the gas sub sector of the oil and gas industry. The NGA President, Mr.Chima Ibeneche, also the Managing Director, Nigeria LNG Limited, NLNG, who made the call reinforced government’s “Gas Revolution”, which is aimed at using gas once flared for export and for reviving the ailing industrial and power sectors of the economy.

The NGA President, who took over the leadership of the NGA last year, made the call when he led the council members to visit Mr. Guy Maurice, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Total E & P Nigeria in Lagos, enjoined its corporate members, including Total, to quicken action on the future of Nigeria’s gas sector development in response to government’s aspirations.

He explained that the team also came to intimate Maurice on the programmes of NGA as a key stakeholder, and to solicit management’s support for these programmes.

Government is to diversify the oil and gas sector and turn it into a base for the industrial development while positioning itself to be a major player in the global gas industry.

Ibeneche noted that what is required of investors and those interested in the sustainability of the gas industry is to continue to be engaged, focused and committed to the full implementation of agreed industry deliverables.
