ADO-EKITI-The former governor of Ekiti State and the Labour Party, LP, Senatorial candidate for Ekiti Central Senatorial District, Mr Ayo Fayose has rejected the results of the election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Tuesday, saying the results did not represent the true position of the minds of the masses within the senatorial district.
According to a statement personally signed by the former governor, yesterday, Fayose said the National Assembly election conducted by the INEC was highly monetised and compromised.
The statement read in part: The open financial inducement, violence that greeted the Ekiti election is most regrettable, aside the manipulation of the result by the principal actors. However, since the end justifies the means l cannot but wish the helpless Ekiti electorate all the best.” Fayose, however, thanked the people of the state for their support.
Meanwhile, both the winners of Ekiti Central Senatorial District and Ekiti Federal Constituency 1 in the House of Representatives, Mr Babafemi Ojudu and Mr Opeyemi Bamidele have thanked the people of the state for their supports.
