Purple Ribbon Entertainment, owned by actress Chioma Okoye has joined other Nigerians to congratulate President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on his victory at last Saturday’s presidential election.
The actress, speaking through its publicist, Mr. Uche , described the election as “the best thing to happen to the entertainment industry and Nigeria at large in recent times.”
“We at Purple Ribbon felicitate with Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on his well_deserved victory at the polls. We believe he is a visionary worthy to serve another term. He is the people’s choice as evident in the results of the election”. Chioma said.
The budding film maker and entrepreneur also tasked President Jonathan to continue to support the entertainment industry, while commending him for his contribution to the development of the industry.
The entertainment company had a day before the presidential elections organized a pro_Jonathan rally to sensitize the physically challenged on their civic rights.
Held at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, the event afforded the physically challenged the opportunity to know the electoral procedure to enable them participate in the election and vote for the right candidate.
Interestingly, most of them opted for Goodluck Jonathan whom they said has given them lots of love and care more than any other Nigerian president.
The special people, as Purple Ribbon calls the disabled, were also grateful for the organizers, thanking them for assisting them when it seemed they had been totally forgotten and rejected by society.
Asked why she campaign for the president_elect using the youths and physically challenged, the Professor and the Dane Gun star said she thought they have as much constitutional right as any other Nigerian.
