IBADAN-THE chances of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, winning the April governorship election in Oyo State, brightened on Wednesday as the  Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi gave the party’s leaders including the governorship candidate a royal blessing in his palace.

The monarch, who blessed the party’s chieftains when they visited him in his palace at Oyo town, also advised the party , which received a rousing welcome from thousands of people in the ancient city , to fulfill their electoral promises to the people if elected.

In a statement by the Director of Publicity of Senator Abiola Ajimobi Campaign Organisation, Mr Yanju Adegbite, quoted the monarch as saying that the large crowd that received the party had shown that the people of Oyo Empire were behind it.

He, however, pleaded with the party not to let them down, stressing that he believed the party would do as promised.

A source told Vanguard that Oba Adeyemi counseled the former Governor of the state, Alhaji Lamidi Adesina.
