NDE appoints nine directors

THE Management of National Directorate of Employment, NDE, has announced  the appointment of nine new directors, to bring the number of its directors to 14.

In the same vein, the management promoted 34 officers to the rank of deputy director, while another 54 were made assistant directors.

These appointments amongst other categories of staff elevated, were said to have been done following the conduct of a promotion exercise in September, last year.

The directorate has equally announced the deployment of 14 new state coordinators to Lagos and 13 other states, even as 23 others retained their former positions

Addressing a meeting of the directors recently, the Director- General, Mallam Abubakar Mohammed said the promotions were a consciously designed policy to reinvigorate the activities of the NDE nationwide.

He congratulated the new appointees and tasked them on the need to be committed to the success of the NDE in programme implementation in line with the Federal Government’s resolve to create employment opportunities for unemployed Nigerians.

A statement by Mr. Ochme Adoga, the Directorate’s Assistant Director, Information and Public Relations, on behalf of the Director-General, named the newly appointed coordinators as Engr. Mohammed Ada Shuaibu for the FCT; Mrs. Patience Osunkwo – Akwa Ibom; Mr. Isa Damu Jibrin – Bauchi; Mr. Sunday David Apakasa – Bayelsa;    Mr. Duke Edem Otu – Cross River;    Alhaji. Mohammed Sambo – Jigawa;   Mr. Isa Abdul – Kaduna; Mr. Mohammed Altine Zogirma – Kebbi; Barr. Nnamdi W. Asomugha – Kogi; Mr. Awosanya S. Adebanjo – Kwara; Mrs. Stella O. Odunwa – Lagos;   Ms. Joyce N. Yarnap – Plateau, among others.

The 23 state coordinators that retained their positions included Mrs. Edna N. Ofordile – Abia, Mr. Abdullahi Nuhu Fikpo – Adamawa; Mr. Michael O. Mbata – Anambra;   Arch. Joe Stephen Ndaks – Benue; Mr. Mamman Wakil Kalanga – Borno; Mr. Patrick O. Isedu – Delta;  Mrs. Ngozi P. Ihenacho – Ebonyi; Ms. A. F. Edegbai – Edo;   Mrs. Abimbola Oni – Ekiti; Ms. Onyebuchi Ojei – Enugu; Mr. Mairiga A. Madubi – Gombe;and Mr. N.R.C Isaac for Imo State.
