PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan is not leaving anything to chance in his quest to win the April 9 Presidential polls.
Aside mapping out an elaborate campaign programme that will take him to all states of the country, sources said the president was making efforts to get leading opposition figures on his side.
In what one source described as a ‘joker,’ President Jonathan was said to have tied up loose ends in his discussions with groups and persons across the country on how to collaborate with him at the presidential polls.
“President Jonathan’s visits to most states of the federation had paid off handsomely as the connections and political goodwill he was able to generate during such visits had buoyed up his chances “not just considerably but in fact more than most political pundits can ever imagine.”
Jonathan, the source continued, now has a lot of groups and persons who appear to the public to belong to groups opposed to the President, but who are now actively working assiduously for the success of his political campaign.
The source explained that while on tours across the country, the President use the day to wave to and address the PDP rallies, and utilise the night to break new grounds, by meeting with carefully selected persons and groups with the sole aim of winning them over to his side.
