April polls: INEC ‘ll be impartial – Sen Adeleke


OSOGBO – Chairman Senate Committee on Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Sen Isiaka Adeleke, has assured Nigerians that the commission would be impartial in the conduct of the April general elections.

Addressing Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, members in Irewole and Isokan local government areas of Osun State when he flagged-off his campaign for Osun West Senatorial district, Senator Adeleke disclosed that the senate committee on INEC had done everything humanly possible to ensure the success of the excercise.

The Senator, who is seeking a second term into the upper legislative chamber from the people of the senatorial district,  assured Nigerians that the commission would ensure that the April poll was hitch free.

According to him, the commission would “ensure that only lawful votes are counted as it would adhere strictly to the international law of one-man, one- vote.”

He, however, called on all political parties and the electorate to cooperate with the commission in its bid to make the election free and fair.
