These were the words of the honourable minister of sports, Prof. Adedoja Tawoheed, who hosted the Amobi Okoye Foundation chairman, Houston Texas player – Amobi Okoye and his partner, James Ihedigbo from New York Jets among others present.

The Sports Minister who was so elated promised to include American Football in the new curriculum of sports the federal government is currently driving to engage Nigerians, youths.

In response to the minister’s remark, USA football treasurer and IFAF executive director, Mr. Scott Hallenbeck promised to support in equipments supply, manpower and the technical know how, so that Nigerian youths can qualify for scholarships and other numerous opportunities available to American football players worldwide.

Speaking further, Amobi Okoye promised that he will not rest until American Football gains roots in Nigeria and many Nigerians are involved in the game, home and abroad.

“The opportunity I have today was due to the glory of God, good education in America and thanks to the American football that has given me wealth and comfort which I want to pass around to all Nigerian Youths.”
