Peter Osaze Odemwingie, Peter Utaka and Ahmed Musa are expected to be the first arrivals to the Nigeria camp on Sunday as the countdown begins for Wednesday’s international friendly between the Super Eagles and Sierra Leone at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.

The Super Eagles were originally to take on Guatemala in Miami, Florida, USA on the same day but match organizers developed cold feet as a result of the litany of court cases against football in Nigeria, forcing the Nigeria Football Federation to scour round the globe for an opponent for the Eagles.
NFF Chief Media Officer Ademola Olajire says both Iceland and Egypt were among early contenders before the Glass House settled for Sierra Leone.
“Iceland and Egypt looked good on different days last week, but the Europeans insisted on insurance (virtually impossible in the short time available) and the ceaseless unrest in Cairo and other cities made an arrangement with the African champions tricky.
“Sierra Leone’s Leone Stars came into the picture as last_ditch and will arrive on Sunday night with nine officials and eight home_based players from Freetown, with the Europe –based contingent due in Lagos on Monday,” according to Olajire.
Forward Obinna Nsofor, who scored five goals for his English Premiership club, West Ham in two matches the previous week, is invited alongside new boy Emmanuel Emenike, while Victor Anichebe has been called as a result of injury to Shola Ameobi.
Inter Milan’s Joel Obi is another late call_up due to the forced absence of home boy Bartholomew Ibenegbu. Obiora Nwankwo, Femi Ajilore, John Mikel Obi and Victor Moses are the other midfielders.
Enyeama will have long_time understudy Dele Aiyenugba reserving him, and defenders Ayodele Adeleye, Taye Taiwo, Michael Odibe, Olubayo Adefemi and Elderson Echiejile will also turn up at the Eko Hotel.
The match has come as a test_run for the Nigeria Football Federation ahead of the 2012 African Nations Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Ethiopia also billed for Teslim Balogun Stadium, on Sunday, March 27.
Wednesday’s game will be played under floodlight, starting from 19h00.
