Jonathan’s emergence divine- Analyst

The soaring political profile of President Goodluck  Jonathan  has been described as similar to that of the late of Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe.

A Warri-based public analyst,  Mr. Tunde Smooth, said that the emergence of  Jonathan was divine for this generation, adding  that  since the president came on board, issues such as fuel scarcity and epileptic  power supply are gradually becoming things of the past.

He spoke to newsmen in Warri, headquarter of Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, weekend, adding that God has always chosen leaders to deliver his people from economic mess and political stagnation.

According to him, “Goodluck Jonathan coming from this long  neglected region and incidentally, his  community Otuoke is few metres from Oloibri community where oil was first discovered and also coincidently, the period Jonathan was born, a great nationalist and  former president of the First Republic of  Nigeria, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe visited the area,” which he said was as precursor of  Jonathan’s rise to greatness.

Smooth said that there was no doubt the fallout of June 12, 1993 gave former President Olusengun Obasanjo from the South West to become the president in 1999 to 2007 in order to appeased the Yorubas for the wrong done to them. He added that same consideration should also be given to the people of the Niger Delta.
