Fayemi signs N80.1bn appropriation bill

ADO-EKITI – Ekiti  State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has signed the 2011 Appropriation Bill into law, with the promise to take care of all the sectors contain in the 8-point agenda of the present administration in the state.

Fayemi disclosed this while appending his signature to the N80.1 billion budget yesterday. The governor noted that N74. 5 billion was initially presented by the State House of assembly.

He disclosed that the state government intended to  sponsor some of the projects in the state  by  sourcing funds from the federal allocations and the internally generated revenue accruing to the State.

He said the budget was a clear departure  from the past,  as the amount of  fund allocated  to capital expenditure   was   greater than  recurrent expenditure

Speaking earlier, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon Tunji Odeyemi,  said his colleagues in the House took the pain to do a thorough job  by ensuring that all sectors are taken care of.
