EFCC arraigns 2 Lebanese over forgery

ABUJA— The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, yesterday, arraigned a Lebanese contractor, Jihad Mohammad Ghraizi and his son, Mohammad Ghraizi, before an Abuja high court sitting in Maitama, for allegedly forging several documents belonging to the Ministry of Interior.

The duo, who took turns yesterday to plead not guilty to the entire 14-counts criminal charge, preferred against them by the anti-graft agency, were further ordered to remain in EFCC custody till today when their bail applications will be considered.

They were alleged to have used forged documents from the Ministry of Interior to fraudulently secure 60% shares of one Madeni Construction Company Limited, contrary to sections 97, 363 and 364 of the Penal Code Cap 532 (LFN, Abuja) 1990.

The offence the EFCC maintained was perfected between December 1999 and June 2008.
