UGHELLI—DELTA State Deputy Governor, Prof Amos Agbe Utuama, SAN, has said Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s administration will be a backbone to the Urhobo at God’s own appointed time and charged the Urhobos to be united.
Speaking yesterday at his Udu residence, when the Uduaghan Patriots led by Dr Chris Oghenechovwen, paid him a solidarity visit to commemorate his birthday, Utuama said the strength of the Urhobos is in their unity.
According to him, the Urhobos cannot afford to play selfish politics and it was good that the Urhobos were carrying other ethnic groups in the state along.
He commended the leadership of the group for appointing him grand patron of the group, adding that the group would also help promote the unity of the Urhobo people. Earlier in his speech, the national Coordinator of the group, Dr Oghenechovwen, described the Deputy Governor as a great Urhobo leader and a nationalist.
Oghenechovwen said the group was committed to the Uduaghan/Utuama’s administration and was working hard for its re-election in 2011.
He added that the Uduaghan Patriot was part of the Urhobo Political Forum and the Urhobo Consultative Forum, as the group was a representation of all Urhobos in the state.
According to him, the Uduaghan Patriot was committed to the political advancement of the Urhobo people and were working in harmony with other political leaders to promote the unity of the Urhobos.
