Jonathan can run for 2011 election – Uloho

A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, stalwart in Delta State, Chief Austin Uloho, has said that there is nothing wrong if President Goodluck Jonathan decides to run for the Presidency in the forthcoming 2011 general elections.

Chief Uloho, who made the observation  while fielding questions from newsmen, said that though it was necessary that President Jonathan concentrates on the duty of his office at this crucial time, it does not stop him from contesting for the presidency come 2011.

According to him, it was the right of every Nigerian to contest and if the President does well and everybody wants him, “why not, he has to run for it and I know all of us in the South-South will rally round and support him.”

“In fact, we urge President Goodluck Jonathan to run for the Presidency in 2011. He will have the full support of the Urhobo people and all well meaning Deltans. I laugh when people talk of power shift and zoning, now out of 13 presidents that have ruled over the affairs of Nigeria, only three persons briefly had come from the Southern part of Nigeria. Now who is in place to talk of power shift, the North or the South”

“ So, we are going to give him the full support he needed, because from the little we have seen, there is no doubt that he will deliver if he becomes President come 2011.
