PORT HARCOURT â€”Â Â TENSION now reigns in Elimgbu community in Rivers State following the murder, weekend, of the Youth President of the community, Nna Adele Uche, by unidentified gun men.
Confirming the development to Vanguard, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Rita Inoma Abbey, said the assassination was probably triggered by a land dispute in which he was alleged to be a star witness.
On how he was murdered, another source told Vanguard that he was driving in his jeep along Rumuwera road when a four-man gang of assassins in an another jeep suddenly blocked his vehicle and pumped several volleys of shots into him.
It could not be confirmed if he died on the spot, but as soon as the news filtered into his community tension started mounting.
Meanwhile the Police have assured that efforts were in top gear to unravel those behind the murder.
