By Simon Ebegbulem

BENIN CITY—THE leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo South senatorial district of Edo state, last weekend, summoned Senator Ehigie Uzamere and three members of the party in the House of Representatives to explain the rumour that they  were about decamping to  Action Congress, AC.

The lawmakers in the House of Representatives who were summoned for the meeting held at the residence of the Vice Chairman of the party (Edo South), Owere Imasogie, include Messrs Patrick Obahiagbon (Oredo Federal Constituency), Samson Osagie (Uhumnwonde/Orhiomnwon) and Ehioge West-Idahosa (Ovia North East and South West).

Some of the PDP leaders at the meeting included the former deputy governor of the state, Mr Lucky Imasuen, and immediate past state representative on the Board of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Matthew Iduoriyekenwen. The rumour had been on that the four lawmakers would dump the PDP for  AC in the next few weeks.

Vanguard learnt that the lawmakers were asked to explain the reason they have decided to support all the policies of Governor Adams Oshiomhole, contrary to the stand of the party as an opposition party in the state.
