Auchi Poly expels 10 students

BENIN—Following recent disturbances at Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State, authorities of the institution have expelled 10 students found to be culpable.

A statement from the office of the Registrar, Dr. Steve Iyayi, explained that the students who were found to have actively participated in the disturbances have breached their matriculation oath and, therefore, stood expelled.

The statement added that investigation into the incident was on-going, insisting that more students found to be culpable would be similarly treated.

It further explained that the expelled students had appeared before the Students Disciplinary Committee (SDC), insisting that it was the report of the committee that management has considered before reaching its decision.
