Long before the west thought of the idea of clashing prints for their 2010 Spring Summer collection, Nigerian designers have been on top of their game, doing very creative things with the colourful inexpensive ankara.
One of them is the idea of using two different prints to make one outfit. The trend became so attractive that even some textile companies rolled out fabrics already done clashing.
The way to do this trend is to choose contrasting prints like ankara but ensure that the two designs compliment each other. Clashing is a tricky one to pull off so do be careful.
