JTF arrests 3 over Oditi’s kidnap

UGHELLI — THE Joint Task Force, JTF, has arrested three persons for their alleged role in the kidnap of the wife of Vice-Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government in Delta State, Mrs. Theresa Otidi.

Mrs. Otidi was kidnapped last Thursday on the outskirts of her husband’s village, Umolo-Olomu, on her way from Kiagbodo market about 6p.m.

She, however, escaped from her abductors in the early hours of  Friday, at Orere-Ewu community.

In a chat with Vanguard at Ughelli, her husband, Chief Vincent Otidi, said guns, ammunition and his wife’s handbag and cell phone were recovered from the suspected kidnappers by JTF.

He said the hoodlums were being interrogated by JTF, adding that seven other members of the gang were still at large.
He commended JTF and other security agencies, the state Acting Governor, Professor Amos Utuama,  Ughelli South Local Government Chairman, Mr. Dennis Djoma, and Orere community for their effort in effecting the arrest of the hoodlums.

A leader of JTF in the area, Major Babayo, confirmed the report, adding that the car used by the kidnappers was also recovered.
