Thugs attack PDP decampee in Edo

FOR pitching camp with the Action Congress (AC) in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and ward one youth leader, Mr. Lukeman Balogun (alias Adole), was yesterday attacked by suspected thugs said to have come from Ugboshi-Ele at Okpe junction in Igarra.

Mr. Balogun, who decamped to the Action Congress last Friday at Ibillo campaign rally and was received by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, said he had received several calls warning him to either  return to the PDP or face the consequences of his action.

According to him, “several persons called me on phone to come to their house, but I refused. They sent people to my house, they convinced my parents who are also in AC with me now to no avail. Maybe they think the best option was to attack me.

I will not mention their names. But, I told them that I cannot go back to PDP because it will tarnish my image. The Governor received me into the party. It is historic and the best thing that can ever happen to any serious politician”.

Now, they know my value. As a former Supervisory Councilor under Chief Johnson Emasealu who is presently the chairman of the Council, they refused to pay my outstanding, I have laboured and toiled for the party without compensation.

The only person that can talk to me is no more alive. I have decamped and that is all because, I have right to any political association”, he lamented.
