UGHELLI—A former chairmanship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ughelli South Local Government Area, Mr. Kingsly Oradajire, has backed the incumbent chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Area, Mr. Dennis Djoma, for second term, saying his good works would endear people to vote for him massively.
Mr. Oradajire, while speaking with newsmen at his office in Warri said, “there had been some protest from constituency two of the local government than constituency one which is made up of Ughievwen kingdom is monopolizing the position of the council chairman.
“I want to unequivocally state that Ughievwen has never in any way monopolized the council seat and there is no way someone from constituency two can occupy it because the current local government party chairman of PDP and the member representing Ughelli South at the Delta State House of Assembly are all from constituency two, including the incumbent vice chairman and leader of the legislative arm.
“Even the immediate past member that represented the local government at the DTHA, Mr. Pius Ewherido, is also from constituency two of the local government.
I wonder where we will stand if the chairman’s seat is conceded to constituency two.
I am strongly in support of Mr. Djoma’s second term bid because he has proved beyond reasonable doubt that he is a man of the people.
While praying for God guidance and protection for Mr. Djoma throughout his electioneering, Oradajire called on those raising eyebrow over the chairmanship slot to wait for their turn as the party will not fight against themselves again knowing fully well that Ughelli south is a PDP local government area.
