A coalition of pro-democracy groups under the banner of the Ondo Freedom Movement has criticized the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, for his remarks on the upcoming Ondo State Governorship election.

Federal Capital Territory FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed allegations by some partisans that the decision of President Bola Tinubu through the FCT Administration to provide residential accommodations for Judges was aimed at pocketing the Judiciary.

Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media to Federal Capital Territory FCT Minister, Lere Olayinka, has counselled a chieftain of the Yoruba sociocultural group, Afenifere, Dr Femi Okurounmu against getting involved in matters capable of ridiculing his status as an elder statesman, “especially matters on which he would not speak objectively for obvious reasons”.

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), has vowed to sue the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, over alleged demolition of ‘shanties’ in Abuja.

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has urged President Bola Tinubu to “stop the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike and Nigeria’s 36 governors from usurping the authority and responsibilities of the National Judicial Council (NJC) and heads of court through giving cars and houses to judges.”
