Amnesty International on Tuesday called for Shell to be prosecuted for allegedly helping Nigeria’s military to commit human rights abuses in the oil-rich south in the 1990s.

Amnesty International has called on Nigeria, the UK and the Netherlands to launch investigations into Anglo-Dutch oil giant, Shell, over its role in a swathe of horrific crimes committed by the Nigerian military government in the oil-producing Ogoniland region in the 1990s.

Shell and bio-bean are helping to power some of London’s buses using a biofuel made partly from waste coffee grounds, a development that has triggered renewed challenge to Nigerian beneficiaries of Shell’s LiveWIRE programme to join in the innovative search for bright energy ideas.

SHELL Companies in Nigeria (SCiN) have emerged the 2017 Best Nigerian companies in Sustainability Innovation in Africa, beating two other finalists at the 11th edition of the Sustainability, Enterprise and Responsibility Awards (SERAs) for Corporate Social Responsibility held in Lagos on Friday.

Two Nigerian business owners, Mr.  Precious Adeho and Mrs.  Ngozi Deborah Atalor, have emerged winners in the  2017 Shell  LiveWIRE Top Ten Innovators competition,  a global contest open to beneficiaries of  Shell LiveWIRE, and aimed at rewarding shining cases of innovation in businesses supported by the programme.
