Dangote Group has disclosed that not less than five of its cement plants spread across five countries in Africa will be completed this year.

Other Nigerian brands that made the list in the top 10 category included Dangote, 6; Globacom, 8; Guarantee Trust Bank, GTB, 14; United Bank for Africa, UBA, 16; Zenith Bank, 19 and First Bank, Intercontinental Bank, 20 among others.

There are far more African billionaires than previously thought, Ventures magazine said Monday in a report on the continent’s mega-rich, but the number of Africans living in extreme poverty has also shot up.

THE Forbes Magazine has declared Aliko Dangote as the world’s richest African in the world, just as the world’s richest black woman, Folorunsho Alakija, is conspicuously missing in the magazine ranking of the 21 richest Nigerians. 

Aliko Dangote is a business juggernaut whose middle name is entrepreneur. He is never dissuaded from entering new businesses despite the general inclement operating business environment. Given his foray into many different business terrains and the successes he has recorded thereof, it would appear he has the uncanny ability to juggle different balls at the same time and get results.

ABUJA—The Dangote Group Wednesday made history by signing of a combined $ 9.05 billion facility agreement with a consortium of local banks and international investors for the establishment of a refinery, and petrochemicals cum fertilizer complex in Nigeria.
