DURING his recent visit to Tehran, President Muhammadu Buhari had an interactive session with members of the Nigerian community in Iran and told them that some former government officials are voluntarily returning public funds they acquired illegally.

ABUJA — President Muhammadu Buhari, in Tehran, Iran, yesterday, disclosed that many of those who looted the public treasuries in the government of former President Goodluck Jonathan had started returning the stolen funds to the government.
He said that though the government appreciated the development, it was still not enough to condone corruption, stressing that his government would still prosecute them in due course.

ABUJA — The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Malami Abubakar, SAN, will today, explain to the Federal High Court in Abuja, why the former National Security Adviser, NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd), has remained under house arrest, despite a court order that permitted him to travel abroad for medical treatment.

The Federal Government has said it will take tough measures against corrupt Permanent Secretaries.

SENATE President, Bukola Saraki, yesterday mandated the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions two weeks to conclude the probe of allegation of corruption against the chairman of Code of Conduct Tribunal, Justice Danladi Umar.
