The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have both expressed the hope they would win the March 23 supplementary elections in six states as they continue to trade blames.

THE ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, were at the jugular of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, weekend, accusing the electoral umpire of bias and favouritism in recent elections and planned supplementary polls.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of conniving to deny APC of the victories that are sure for it in the governorship and state houses of assembly elections in the country.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it will win all the Governorship supplementary elections scheduled for March 23, 2019 adding that the plans of violence and manipulations by the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be resisted by the people and summarily come to naught.

The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, had an easy ride during the presidential election due to the popularity of President Muhammadu Buhari although the turnout was not encouraging. The APC defeated the Peoples Democratic Party with a wide margin as the PDP could not even secure the mandatory 25% of the total votes cast in Kano getting only 20%.
