The Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) on Thursday concluded its three-day National Women Conference, with a charge on women to step up their entrepreneurial skills and not be afraid of being more successful than their spouses.

AS Nigeria joined other   countries recently to mark the 2017 World Egg Day, the Poultry Association of Nigeria, PAN, has disclosed that eggs could prevent breast cancer among women.

SINCE its launch by the pioneer chairperson of Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials, COWLSO, Chief Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, wife of former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the committee has metamorphosed into one of the engine rooms of the state government in delivering dividends of democracy to the people, especially, the less privileged, irrespective of class, religion, tribe, sex.

AN astute politician and one time governorship aspirant in Ondo State, Jumoke Anifowoshe, has called on women to rise up and take leadership positions in the next general election in the country. She said that women have sat at the backbench of politics for too long and need to claim their proper position in the polity.

In recognition of their efforts towards developing gender-friendly policies which have aided the inclusion women in governance at various capacities in their states and protection of the rights of women and girls, the governors of Lagos and Ekiti states, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode and Mr Ayodele Fayose, respectively, will be honoured with the Most Gender-Friendly Governors of the Year award at the 2017 edition of the MMS Plus Woman of Fortune Hall of Fame, WoFHoF, ceremony.
