For the conscious minds amongst Nigerians, for those who love Nigeria and strongly believe in its existence and unity, prayers are required to achieve all these especially in this trying time for the country.

Last Saturday , a friend Olukayode, an International Human Rights Law graduate of the University of Notre Dame, engaged me in an interesting  conversation,  sometimes, going on without waiting for appropriate responses: “It’s dangerous for the SP [Senate President] to accept to work with President Muhammadu Buhari (PMB), again,” he began. ” I assure you it is very dangerous.

AN interesting scenario seems to be  playing  out in the Nigerian political firmament which is becoming the norm today. It is the fact that there now seems to be a tacit order or progression in the choice of office to vie for by incumbents after office.

Delivering a lecture titled “Prospects for Democratic Consolidation in Africa: Nigeria’s Transition”, on Thursday, February 16, 2015, at the Chatham House, London, the then presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, General Muhammadu Buhari, claimed he was a “converted democrat”.

In my own opinion, It is obvious that Buhari and All Progressives Congress, APC, are threatened by what Saraki might become if he defects to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Why was the police used in doing the bidding of powerful interests simply because APC members want to defect to another party? I see this as tyranny. He would have eventually honoured their invitation but the big question remains: why involve the police? Why did they block his convoy?
