On December 1, 2018, the remains of Chief Anthony Akhakon Anenih, the Iyasele of Esanland, were buried in his Mausoleum in his country home in Uromi.

It is most disheartening that we as Ijaws and Niger Deltans have learnt nothing from the unfortunate attrition we connived and collaborated in, that led to the fall of the Dr. Goodluck Jonathan administration, which has invariably, albeit inadvertently, created a banana peel in the affairs of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

In this era of gender equality  it sounded most  unbelievable   to read in the dailies about   a lady Managing Director of a power distribution company being sent out of a meeting of legislators and VIPs in the power sector in the Benin Governor’s  office by Governor Godwin Obaseki himself. 

Should corruption be seen as a moral issue? It often seems so, and that attitude is often reflected in how societies decide it should be dealt with – punishment through the legal system or the rule of law. In this worldview, corrupt acts are a well-thought out and premeditated way for people to capture resources which aren’t rightfully theirs.

The name Ndigbo Lagos may not sound as loud as Ohaneze Ndigbo. But they are individually,  part of that Igbo revered organisation. Yet Ndigbo Lagos has a distinct character.
