Immunity clause, as presently enshrined in the Nigerian constitution with its attendance problem of deferring punishment of an offender to an arbitrary future day rather than immediate punishment at the point of abusing an office, is a tortured issue that merits reconsideration at the on-going review of the 1999 constitution by the National Assembly.

WITHOUT any doubts whatsoever, the proper administration of the Local Government system is the fastest and most reliable way to bring development and the gains of democracy closest to the people of Lagos State.

MY guess is like yours when I read a recent report that the Senate is to probe the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, the NNPC.I can’t tell the outcome of the Senate probe this time but like many probes conducted by the National Assembly I don’t have much anxiety at all.
