For over six weeks, Rivers State held the entire country spell-bound. The Third Year Anniversary Celebration of the Wike administration brought to the fore, the fundamentals of good governance in the face of governance failure in majority of the states of the Federation.

In a tweet he tweeted on January 9, 2012, the Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, tagged Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala a “zero”. Not too long after, a nasty little child who was promoted by the same El-Rufai, tweeted that Dr. Okonjo-Iweala was ‘overrated’.

I was in Ijebu Ode yesterday at the invitation of an elderly political leader in that town. By the way, I have been told that Ogun West senatorial area will be difficult, if not completely impossible, to convince the people from that part of Ogun State to vote for me because there is an avowed commitment by the two major clans that comprise the zone to support only a candidate that comes from there.

On the other governance issues like the economy and security which the opposition takes delight to criticise, the president has entrusted qualified individuals to superintend them and he is providing the requisite leadership gravitas

The victory of APC in the just concluded governorship election in Ekiti had the ambience of a sweet smelling savor and a breath of fresh air long overdue to the good people of the state who have, for what seemed like eternity, been pathetically subjected to one of the most dehumanizing forms of governance.

“Pressed on all sides, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.”  This eighth and ninth verses from the fourth chapter of Apostle Paul’s second epistle to the Corinthians aptly describe the turmultous journey of  Senate President Bukola Saraki in the last three years of the APC-led government.

HONOURABLE Solomon Eke is the newly elected Executive Chairman, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. I saw his electioneering campaign agenda and I knew at once that he will do well in government.

These may indeed the best of times for former Governor Godswill Akpabio and his successor and political godson, Udom Emmanuel as their alliance is once again at play. The two leaders are enjoying the best of relationship, so to speak.
