FOLLOWING perennial flooding at Iyana Ejigbo junction along the Isolo-Egbe Road, in Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, LCDA, of Lagos State, the Ministry of the Environment has concluded plans to embark on immediate de-flooding of the area.

The recently paraded child trafficking syndicate at the Lagos state police command, Ikeja, were arraigned at the Apapa Family court on Thursday, May 30th 2013. Three of the defendants, Benedette Ogbonna, Chibueze Mba, and Adaeze Mba who were alleged to be directly involved in the stealing and selling of the children pleaded not guilty to the eight -count charge brought against them while the fourth defendant, Patricia Anibogu, the 61 year- old who allegedly bought one of the children from Benedette Ogbogu, also pleaded not guilty to the five-count charge brought against her.

A commercial bus driver,Steven Emeka, 24, and his conductor, Tosin Kadri, 20, were last Monday, remanded in prison custody for alleged armed robbery. The defendants who are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and armed robbery were arraigned in a Lagos Magistrate’s court, sitting in Ikeja, before Magistrate Abimbola Oshodi-Makanju.

“It has never been this bad. Imagine a country where law enforcement agents are no longer safe, so what happens to the common man?” Luka asked, referring to the massacre of 103 policemen in Nasarawa State.
