The police in Abia have commenced an aggressive mop-up of criminal in the state with a view to creating a crime-free environment for both the residents and holiday makers during the forth-coming Xmas and New Year festivities. The command boss, Leye Oyebade, said they are making good their resolve to fight crime to a standstill and give Abians and all inhabitants’ quality Police services.

An eight man gang of armed robbers terrorizing the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, Kogi and Kano States, whose main informant was a middle-aged woman known as Hajia has been smashed by the police. Crime Guard gathered during the week, that the gang had links with Kogi State notorious political thug, Zakeria Yua Isiaka, who was arrested recently by operatives of the Inspector General of police Special Intelligence Team, IRT on the Okene-Akure Expressway.

No fewer than 474 suspects have been arrested by the Benue Police Command within three months for various crimes in parts of the state while five kidnap victims were rescued.
