The Inspector-General of Police, Muhammed Dahiru Abubakar and the Police Management team, Wednesday, honoured some officers and men of the force who excelled in their respective assignments. Those honoured included; two Commissioners of police, Ogunsakin Tunde Johnson of the Special Fraud Unit(SFU), Lagos; Idris Faruk Umar of the Anti Fraud Section. Two Deputy Commissioners of Police: Chris Okey Ezike of the Federal Special Anti- Robbery Squad, Adeyemi Ogunjemilusi of the Interpol section; CSP Ibrahim Bako of SEB section, ASP Eseile Irioje, Inspector Yusuf Audu of the Federal SARS and Sgt. A middle aged man identified as Christopher Ezenwaka from Anambra state, is currently cooling his heels at the Homicide Department of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, over the alleged gruesome murder of a 25 year old plumber identified as Samuel Ikeokwu Nwoke at Mangoro estate, two weeks ago.

This young man had a deadly brush with a moving train weekend after he walked into it’s tracks along Agege motor road by Air port bus stop, Ikeja.

RESIDENTS of Idi-Oro area of Mushin, are recounting their ordeal after two days of bloody clashes between rival cult gangs, which left no fewer than three persons dead.

A 35-year-old man, Jude Ozokuwere, who is alledged to be a member of a syndicate that specializes in adulterating and distributing olive oil in Lagos and other parts of the country, has been arrested by the police at Trade Fair Police Station;The suspect, who is currently helping the police in apprehending other members of the syndicate, told Crime Alert that poverty drove him into the crime.

The peace enjoyed by residents of Idomila community, located off Agbara Igbesa area of Ogun State, was, in the early hours of Monday, suspended following sporadic gun shots which jolted the residents from sleep.

The gun shots, described as one of the worst in the history of the community, were initially concluded to be from robbers. But when the dust settled, it was discovered to be a gun duel between operatives of Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja and suspected members of a notorious kidnap syndicate that used a building in the community as hideout.
