THE Federal Government has issued licenses to the five newly approved universities, warning them against running unapproved programmes in their various institutions.

Six thousand students matriculated on Saturday ,February 25 to become bonafide students of the University of Nigeria with a charge from the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Barth Okolo to ensure they meet the attendance requirement and shun cultism.

A new lease of life greeted staff and students of University of Calabar (UNICAL) recently, when they met at the school’s new Faculty of Arts Auditorium to rededicate the institution after its nearly six months closure. The closure was as a result of students riot last August.

Minister of State for Education, Mr Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, a lawyer, has declared that the Federal Government will deliver 100 Almajiri schools to the 19 Northern states by June this year.

Tertiary institutions across the country have received a boost under the Train the Trainers programme where Vice-Chancellors, Deputy Vice- Chancellors, Provosts, Rectors, Registrars, Deans, Heads of Department and other principal stakeholders in our tertiary institutions were meant to be trained on how to run an institution with little or no stress.
