FACED with the imminence of the return of Organised Labour to perhaps a protracted strike, the Federal Government last week threatened to enforce the “No work, no pay” policy if the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, calls for another work stoppage.

KADUNA State appears determined to reaffirm its long-standing reputation as the nation’s most violent state. Apart from Maiduguri, the epicentre of Boko Haram suicide attacks and insurgency; Kano, which frequently witnesses “blasphemy”-related violence; and Plateau and Benue States, the flashpoints of  herdsmen’s attacks on farming communities, Kaduna takes the cake as the melting pot of sectarian and communal conflicts.

IT sounds like a tale from a fictitious horror novel or movie, but unknown to millions of Nigerians they could easily be consumers of Chinese drugs made with human flesh!

WHILE malnutrition constitutes a serious setback to the socio-economic development of a nation, sustainable growth in Nigeria cannot be achieved without prioritised efforts to scale-up and sustain investment for nutrition.

WITH the emergence of candidates of all the 91 registered political parties at all levels of electoral contest, the stage is set for the formal flag-off of the campaigns and other electioneering activities. This is a moment for all Nigerians who registered to vote to exercise utmost care and pay close attention to the messages that will soon start getting churned out for vote-catching purposes.
