THE anti-corruption agenda of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari has been reduced to an object of ridicule. This is very unfortunate and regrettable. The nation had hoped that this top priority of the regime would be driven to a logical conclusion by Buhari, who rode to power three years ago as an incorruptible knight in shining armour.

The cardinal reason our leaders in Abuja are so careless about late passage of annual budgets is that the Presidency and the National Assembly do not seem to understand that time is also an economic resource which must be carefully optimised to achieve maximum results.

The impulse to sign every international instrument without proper scrutiny for our national interest has lured us into so many pacts which we have failed to implement.
