YOUTHS in Utagba-Ogbe, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State, have appealed to the Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, to appoint an Ndokwa native as the next Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC Commissioner to represent Ndokwa nation.
Speaking on behalf of the youths at the Palace of the Oduosa of Utagba-Ogbe kingdom, Isaac Obi, Mr.  Azubuike Ejechi maintained that the kingdom is the largest host to oil and gas producing companies in Ndokwa West, with over four oil companies and over 45 running oil wells but has nothing to show for it.

Ejechi urged the state governor to appoint an indigene of the kingdom, who is resident at home and knows the developmental needs of the people of the area, adding that the person must have served the community and the government meritoriously.

The youths  commended Governor Uduaghan on the speedy implementation of his three-point agenda on Peace and Security, Human Capital and Infrastructural developmen,t especially the installation of transformers, public TV viewing centres and the dualization of Asaba-KwaleWarri Road, assured the governor of their preparedness to contribute their quota towards the success of his development programme and policies.

While commending His Royal Majesty the Oduosa of Utagba-Ogbe Kingdom, Isaac Obi for the Peace that has returned to the area since his enthronement as the traditional ruler of the kingdom, the youths appealed to the royal father to recommend Hon. Peter Onyenike to the Governor for appointment as the next DESOPADEC Commissioner representing Ndokwa Ethnic nationality after the expiration of the interim management committee of the commission.

They maintained that the choice of Hon. Peter Onyenike was informed by the fact that he has served the community meritoriously as the chairman of Host Communities on Oil and Gas, Ndokwa West Chapter, has served the Local Government Area as a Deputy Chairman, he is experienced and well educated.
